Stakeholder Engagement Mokhotlong

Land Administration Authority has embarked on a stakeholder engagement exercise in Mokhotlong.The aim of the exercise was to engage the business community; the following issues were addressed. 

• Some commercial activities are being operated on unregistered land. 

• Commercial activities are being operated on residential plots. 

• Some business owners want to change their plots from residential to commercial but are not aware of the steps to follow.   

The authority also felt the need to encourage the business owners not to register big plots as commercial while they need only a small portion of the land since it will attract high ground rent duties for them.
