The officer has overall responsibility for issuance, execution and disposition of leases and fulfilling the functions of Commissioner of Lands, in accordance with the LAA Act and Land Act.

The officer has overall responsibility for LAA financial management, information systems and administrative functions.

The officer has overall responsibility for examination and registration of deeds and dispute resolution and fulfilling the functions of Registrar of Deeds, in accordance with the LAA Act and the Deeds Registry Act.
